What FBLA Has Done For Me
FBLA has allowed me to chart my course;
it has taken me to destinations I never believed I would go before. Once, I was
a shy and reserved young lady, now I am a vibrant social butterfly. I have gain
an abundance of leadership skills and opportunities since the 9th grade. I have
the confidence to go in front of any crowd large or small and lead a workshop
or say a speech. I have had the chance to network with people that have changed
my life forever.
FBLA has shown me that anything is
possible with hard work and dedication. I have achieved my goals and wildest
dreams. I would have never thought I would be my schools first FBLA state
officer or region officer, but that dream came true because of FBLA and my
Adviser Dr. Dupree. FBLA has allowed me to travel to places I have never been
before like California and Texas. If someone told me to speak in front of over
7,000 members, I would say it is impossible, but now I know that anything is
possible as a leader.
I am now well equipped with the
leaderships I need to face the business world. I am ready to take on any
challenge or obstacle I may face in my future. I will continue to use the
fundamentals of Service, Progress, and Education throughout my life. I would
like to thank FBLA for showing me that no dream is too small or too big to come
true.

I would have to say it is between joining and being a state officer. I love the
state officers I work with; they help me keep an opened mind. I enjoy making
the FBLA experience a great one for everyone around me. It is an honor.
Dr.
Dupree: Why and when did you decide that you
wanted to be a state officer?
Nakea:
When
I attended my first State Leadership Conference, I decided that I wanted to be
a state officer. I was amazed by their confidence on stage and the things they
did for the members. I learned that there is so much more to the world of FBLA

the first state officer at Redan High School.
